Whereabouts at GlazenHuis until September 2016
Two projects are on view at GlazenHuis in Lommel Belgium as part of the exhibition Whereabouts. The work will be on view until September 2013.
The installation “The Tactile Transducers”, created in the museum’s iconic glass tower during a residency in February, is strewn with the debris remaining from a performance with the percussionist Davy Deckmijn, a native of the town of Lommel and drummer for the band Zornik. The Tactile Transducers also includes sound and video from the performance in which Davy plays and largely destroys the arrangement of objects created with the glass artist Eric Pipien.
“Pearl Flask” generates alchemical spectacle. The work utilizes industrially manufactured scientific glass, dry ice and stand oil to suggest a phantom heat rippling through a viscous honey-like substance.
