When We Bow Down Our Heads was folded into a masterfully edited mix on Framework Radio that aired on episode #956.

About Framework (from their website):

“Framework‘s goal is to present not only the extremely diverse sound environments of our world, but also the extremely diverse work that is being produced by the artists who choose to use these environments as their sonic sources. we hope to ask this question: is ‘field recording’ a style, or a genre, or is it in fact as uncontrollable and undefinable an instrument or tool as any, that may be interpreted, manipulated, and appropriated by anyone with a microphone and an idea? these works are its definition, and not vice versa.”

I am honored to be in good company in this lineup.
Here’s what Patrick McGinley (aka Murmur) writes about his selection, beginning with the work of Manja Ristić:

“Manja’s new line imprint release is, needless to say, wonderful. it is a triptych of works about sentience: “it moves through a world saturated with voices — an intricate weave of physics, chemistry, biology — where nothing is silenced, nothing excluded.” don’t take our on-air blunder as a lack of appreciation.

meanwhile the textures of tomáš šenkyřík‘s 1m² (an audio concept close to my heart already), the orchestras in fletina‘s objects & materials, the multitude of levels in francisco lopez‘s cryptic chapters, the vocal resonances in florence cats‘ shells, and the winds created as john roach and company bow down their heads, have made for a somehow uplifting final surge towards 2026. happy holidays to everyone, and happy solstice (yes! the days have started getting longer already!), and hear you in the new (y)ear!”
