Fluxbell
Flux Factory – House Broken
Queens, New York
March 2010
Flux Bell is a permanently installed sound sculpture created for the Flux Factory exhibition House Broken. House Broken was the inagural show at the 29th street Long island City building. The bell, which is activated by a traditional button outside the gallery, includes a timing mechanism, a mechanized and amplified stringed instrument near the front door, and a sound sculpture located at the top of the stairs.
In 2014, the doorbell was augmented with an additional remote component located in the Flux Factory kitchen as part of the exhibition Homecoming.
